All this time... and it's over that quick? WOW!

Can't believe Christmas is here and gone! All the buying and wrapping of presents, all the baking, cooking, and cleaning... and it's gone in one day! WOW! Time flies when you're having fun! I am posting a link to our pics of Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day with Matt family. BTW, all these pics were taken with our NEW digital camera my parents bought us! WOOHOO! Love it! Hope you enjoy!!!

Merry Christmas Adam!

So, today is the day before Christmas Eve. I've always called it Christmas Eve's Eve. Well, today, I stand corrected. One of my family friends cleared it up for me this morning. She told me it is Christmas Adam. haha The day before Christmas Eve = Adam. lol

Ok... maybe I don't have to explain that one much more. It's just funny to me. haha

I'm so excited about Christmas! We had our Young Adult's Sunday School Christmas Party this past weekend and had a blast! We all met at Sumo's and ate dinner, then went back to our house and watched our traditional "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"!! So, I'm officially ready for Christmas now! haha Still haven't seen the Charlie Brown's Christmas yet. Maybe this week I'll get to see it.

My mom is getting us a digital camera! I'm so excited! Matt doesn't know it yet, but I had to go with her to help her pick it out. So, I know. hehe I can't wait! It's a Nikon. It's so nice! Can't wait!

I probably won't make another blog before Christmas, so I hope everyone has a wonderfully Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God Bless you and your family!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

With Thanksgiving behind us, Christmas is quickly approaching! And I haven't done a BIT of my Christmas shopping! I'm hoping to get some done this next weekend... we'll see how that goes! haha Anyone who wants to get me anything, I take money, checks, and anything snowmen haha.

I can't wait to decorate this weekend! My tree is at my parent's house in storage. So, I have to get it from there, drag it up three flights of stairs to our apt. and decorate it and my house. All for three weeks of joy! haha OH, the things we do for the Holiday spirit! lol Deck the Halls! Santa's coming soon! OOOO I can't wait!
My all time favorite movies to watch during Christmas is "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation". It's a tradition every year that we get a group of friends together and watch these two movies. I'm so excited! It's going to be a blast!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this time of year!

Give Thanks With a Greatful Heart...

It's truly time for Thanksgiving! A lot of times we just skip over Thanksgiving and head right into Christmas after Halloween. We all need to stop and remember what it's really all about. Especially in this day and time. If nothing else, we need to stop and thank God for all the things He's done for us. Despite the bad things going on, we can ALWAYS see the good things that God has done for us through the storms. So, just remember to stop and give thanks to Him this next week.

I'm already getting in the holiday giving spirit! God has blessed me so much in my life, I just wish I had enough money to give to everyone what I really want to give them! But funds are limited, so, the best I can give is the gift of time. Time spent with loved ones and friends, to me, is better than gifts wrapped in shiny paper! Although I LOVE to get gifts! hehe But truthfully, the gift of love and spending time with family is something you can treasure forever! Clothes fade, things break, but relationships and family memories will always be there.

I can't wait for the day after Thanksgiving though! I LOVE TO SHOP!!!! Just to be in the hustle and bustle of all the stores and sales puts me in the Christmas spirit!! I just love it! It's a tradition for my mom and me to go early in the morning to the FIRST store that's open at 3:00 am and shop ALL DAY! We don't necessarily buy a whole lot... well, I TRY not to anyway, but it's just so much fun! :) Sorry, just a girl thing! hehe Of course, we drag my dad along... only because we need someone to carry all of our bags back to the car! lol He's such a great sport! lol Matt has told me that I could go shopping all day if I wanted, just don't ask him to drag along with us. lol He's not a shopper at all! He even hates to go to Walmart for just a few items! Drives me crazy! But oh well. He's a man! lol

We have our first Thanksgiving dinner of the year with my dad's family this Sunday. I can't wait! SOO much good food! That's another reason why I LOVE Thanksgiving! lol Man, my family can cook! I will try to get some pics and post them next week.

If I don't post before Thanksgiving, have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING and remember to give thanks to our Lord and Savior for all He's done for us!

Wow! What a weekend!

Well, it's Monday again! And our trip is over. But the memories will last forever! I had such a great time. Just getting away for the weekend makes a huge difference! Here's some pics of our vacation. A place called The Pink Palace. It's like three museums in one! It was very informative, but VERY fun!

Skeleton of a Rattlesnake

This is how a General Store looked back in the old days

The front of the first Piggly Wiggly

The first Piggly Wiggly forced you to go up and down eack aisle!

A view of what a kitchen looked like in the mid 50's to early 60's

The 60's... check out how they did perms! lol And the "weight loss" Method. Matt said it looked like they would come away with internal injuries! ;op

The Pink Palace is in a mansion... this is the foyer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saturday evening/night, we walked Beale Street. It was so much fun! There was so many different cultures there! It was unbelievable! It was like a small version of New Orleans. It was great! Music on every corner, and it was so alive! WOW!
This was a building front that was still standing and being held up by steele beams. Behind it was a club/bar (which was $10.00 to get in just to sit and listen to the music... when you can hear it outside for free.. hmm... no brainer! lol)
This is a sidewalk look at the building front
Inside the building front (which you can see from the sidewalk), this was an interesting piece of .... art? lol Goats live here! Very odd place for goats, but hey! They gotta live somewhere!
Me and my honey! We had a blast listening to the free entertainment and watching the DRUNK people dance the night away!
Beale Street is so beautiful at night!
Finally, we were headed home! ;0p
I don't know why this caught me so funny, but as we were driving to Memphis Friday evening/night, we drove past this trailor (in the dark) at an exit that had nothing on it. It was sitting right the road and it was lit up like daylight! I don't think you can tell what it says from this pic, but it has signs all over it saying "$5.00 pshycic reading"! I laughed so hard for about 2 miles! lol So, coming home, I HAD to take a pic of it! It's lost some of it's funniness now, but man, was it funny to me at the time! One of those Had to be there kind of things! lol
I guess it was the combination of 1.) it being out in the middle of nowhere, 2.) it being opened late at night, and 3.) it just really topped the redneck list! YEP! That's what made it so funny!
Hope you enjoyed the little walk through of our trip! It really was a blast!
My whirlwind thoughts on "paper"
I'm so ready to get out of here and get on my trip! I don't want to wish it away, I just wish it would get here! I'm going crazy sitting here at work thinking of all the things I need to be doing to get ready. I'm off all day tomorrow, so I can get it all done then, it just seems so useless to be sitting here when I could be doing stuff. If you don't know, I'm a MAJOR planner! lol I told my friend today that I"ve got every one of my steps planned all the way to getting in the car and riding to Memphis! lol I'm so ready to get outta here!
I went to the bank today and had some change to exchange for dollars. We saved up this past year (since last October) and we had 104.00 just in change. That's exciting! Now we can add that to the other money we saved up and enjoy ourselves and not put it on the credit card! YAY! Steering clear of the credit card is always a plus! ;)
Well, typing this has eased some anxiety and waisted a couple of minutes. lol Maybe I can find something else to do for the next....4 hours! lol
I'll post pics when we get back! Have a great weekend!!! And a Spooky Halloween!!!
The countdown begins...
Well, today is Monday, approx. 2:30 pm. 3 days left until we leave for our trip! I'm so excited! I can't wait! We're going to Memphis, TN. for the weekend. Leaving Friday afternoon and returning Sunday night. Just to get away for a couple of days means the world to me! It's a couple of weeks late, but we're celebrating our 2 year anniversary! Man, who would've thought I would have been for 2 years when I was 24! But it's been the best adventure of my life. I wouldn't trade it for the world! I married my best friend October 14, 2006 and he's the best! There's never been a minute that I regret since we've been together. We had some rough times there at the beginning of our dating adventure, but things got worked out with family, etc, and now it couldn't be better!
I really do hope that Matt gets to feeling better before Friday when we leave. He's been sick with Sinus problems for about a week and a half. And telling him to go to the doctor is like telling a wall to talk! lol It just "ain't" happening! Oh well. We'll still have the time of our lives even if he is feeling under the weather.
I will have tons of pictures to post when I get back and I'll put them on here as soon as I can.
Where did the weekend go?
It's Monday again! Man, where did the weekend go? I can't believe how quickly those two days go by! It's unbelievable! We had a very relaxing weekend though. We stayed home most of Saturday. Matt played his Lineage II game (as always! haha) and I cleaned house ( as always haha). Then we went to my mom's house for a little while and went shopping with them at Lowe's and Walmart. Great fun! (not really as fun as it sounds. lol) Then Sunday we went to church, came home, took a nap, went back to church, then back home again! So, other than church, we've had a very relaxing weekend!
I am LOVING this weather! It makes me want to be outside all day! But instead I'm indoors looking out. :( oh well. It pays the bills! That's all that counts!
We're taking a trip the last of October/first of November to Memphis, TN. I'm so excited! Just to get away for the weekend means so much! We desperately need a vacation! The last trip we took was last year at our anniversary. So, it's long overdue! We're planning on going to the Memphis Zoo and to the Pink Palace and Beale Street just to name a few things! So, I'm excited!
I guess that pretty much catches you up on what's been going on and what's coming up.
HAPPY FALL!!!
It's Friday!
I cut my finger pretty bad this morning trying to prepare some roast for supper tonight. It took almost ten minutes to stop the bleeding! :( I was crying like a tiny baby for about 20 minutes! WOW! It was crazy! But I'm better now, just learning to do things without a thumb for a little while. lol
So, I'm hoping my roast turns out good! It's a new recipe I found. It's called Cajun Pot Roast. You should try it! I'll post the recipe at the end of this post. I'm excited about it!
I've got two close friends and two cousins that are all preggo right now! And they are ALL expecting girls!!! WOW! What are the odds, huh? Good luck to all of them! I pray God keeps these little ones and the mommies safe and everything goes well. I can't wait until they all get here so I can spoil EVERY ONE of them like crazy! I'm excited! :)
Well, I'm done with my outlook on today, so I'm going to leave you with the recipe that I'm trying tonight! I'll let you know how it turned out! God Bless!!!
Happy October everyone!!!
October... my favorite time of year is here! The fall weather in Alabama is so wonderful! Nothing like it! I love how you have to bundle up in the mornings and turn on the heat in the car on the way to work and then regret you wore a sweater lunch and have to turn on the AC on the way home! haha Nothing like it! But I love it!
Fall is a great time for weather, but it's also very exciting for me because I married my best friend October 14, 2006! It will be 2 years this year! Man, time flies! It's been the best adventure I've ever had though! I wouldn't trade my life for anything! It's wonderful.
I can't believe it's been 2 years though. A lot of things have happened in 2 years. But they have all been for the best and I thank God everyday for such a wonderful life.
Another Day, Another Dollar!
Well, today started out pretty crappy! I felt like I had been ran over by a mac truck! This ragweed season is killing me! Stuffy nose and all! GAH! What a glorious day! ;-) Other than not feeling well today, it's been a pretty good day! Finally got setup on AT&T bundle today! YAY! No more Nextel!!! WOOHOO! I'm so tired of those phones I could scream! And I have several times because of them! lol
Anyway, to update from the last post, Diane's (lady from work) grandbaby was a girl!!! She's beautiful! Emma Lee Whited! So cute! Can't wait to see that chubby cheeked baby in person! ;-)
Well, nothing else is new this week. So, I'm closing for now!
Just a quick note on my week!
It's been a pretty fast week. Boring, but fast. I'm just ready for my weekend! Ready to sit at home and rest! Diane (at work) is getting her second grandbaby today. So, she left out of here in a whirlwind. We're so excited for her! They don't know what it is yet. But she's about to find out any time now! :-) Congrats Gabe & Sharon! Can't wait to see pictures and meet this little one!
It's getting close to my lunch time, so I'm going to wrap it up. I'll write more later.
Holla atcha!
God Bless the USA!
Well, today is the anniversary of the Twin Towers tragedy. Seven years ago today, some coward from the Middle East decided to take action on his beliefs and become an honorary moron to us over here. Very sad day! A lot of hurt, a lot of anger, and a lot of confusion has been stirred up from all of that mess. It's just a reminder of how messed up this world REALLY is! I pray that God has mercy on us and helps us make the best of situations problems that continue to arise in our world. Not just our country. Our world. We've become so self-centered that we don't realize those people are hurting not only us, but themselves. Their beliefs are so wrong! I pray that God will intervene and show them the real truth and that they will turn from their wicked ways! God will not linger much longer. He's coming back and I cringe at the thought that they are denying my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Another note... I feel pretty drabby today. The revival we had at church this past week was awesome! I'm glad we had it and that God moved in such a great way! I'm also glad it's over... only because I'm so tired! My body is give out! I hardly have a voice left and my head is stuffy. I think I sang and cried too much! :-) BUT it was definitely worth it! God moved in each service! It was awesome!
Well, that catches me up for today. I'm closing so I can get back to surfing the net! :-) Since that's all I do all day anyway! God Bless America!
Revival, busy schedule, too busy NOT to pray!
We've been in Revival this week at my church. God has really touched, healed, strengthened, and renewed! I am so pumped about what God has done and is continuing to do in our lives at Pelham Church of God! I really feel that we are headed in a direction of blessings from God. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next! I'm open to the possibilities!
I think I've been home for a total of about 5 waking hours since Monday morning! lol I'm enjoying this refreshing revival, but I'll be glad to be at home for more than 1 1/2 hours at night and an hour in the morning! The rest of the time I'm at home, I'm asleep, so they don't count. haha. Good thing about it, my house is still clean from this past weekend! lol If you're not there, it can't get messed up!
I guess I'm going to wrap this post up. I've got TONS of policies to mail out. BLAH! Oh well...Job security! :-)
Short weeks always drag on!
Quick note... sorry it's been so long since I've updated my blog! I never think about it! But I did today, and I will try my best to keep it up from now on.
Ok... so, this past Monday was Labor Day. Putting this week at a 4 day work week. Which means.... it drags by!!! It's just Thursday and I feel like it was 2 weeks ago that we were off!
Anyway, not much has happened this week. Same stuff, different day! Know what I mean? I've got 30 minutes until I leave work, then I'm going to an Avon meeting where I'm supposed to get free samples and some tips on how to sell better. So, we'll see how this goes! I've never been to one before, but, first time for everything. :) Maybe this will be the first of many! Who knows!
Man, I'm really not good at writing anymore! I HAVE to get back in the habit! This is fun! :)
